Digital health accelerator ANDHealth and biomedical commercialisation fund Brandon BioCatalyst have been awarded $50 million to launch another round of their CUREator+ BioMedTech program to support commercialisation and translation of research targeting dementia and cognitive decline.

Friday’s funding announcement from Health minister Mark Butler was a part of $230 million worth of new commitments made out through the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF). The BioMedTech grant represented the single largest investment of the projects that received funding in this latest round.

Overall, 110 research projects were funded under eight programs and addressing a range of health issues, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, respiratory diseases, and First Nations health.
