The Department of Defence is nearing completion of a new Space Capability Program strategy, with local industry expected to be briefed “before December”.

Head of Space Command Air Vice-Marshall Cath Roberts told a Space Industry Association of Australia (SIAA) event in Canberra last week that the previously unannounced strategy was waiting on one final signature for approval.

Air Vice-Marshall Roberts said the strategy would provide detail on Defence’s space capability requirements over the next couple of years, and then out to 2030.
