The business case for a national skills “passport” is being developed by tech services giant Accenture, as the Albanese government warms to a concept proposed decades ago to inject dynamism into the labour market.
The National Skills Passport received backing from the government last September, with $9.1 million committed to “progress” the project aimed at helping workers promote their qualifications and businesses find more skilled workers.
The business case is the first step to inform an assessment on whether the government will push ahead with the potential landmark tech project.
