Qld’s bill for PsiQuantum advice revealed

The Queensland government spent close to $2 million across just two contracts for external advice on its controversial investment in Californian startup PsiQuantum, Budget estimates has heard.

The legal and consulting costs add to the almost $7 million in fees racked up by the federal government for advice and economic analysis before the two government’s promised $940 million in equity and loans.

But several other advisory firms also engaged by the Queensland government remain undisclosed, putting the true cost of the due diligence for PsiQuantum’s Asia-Pacific headquarters for Brisbane higher.
